Bafra
Nicotiana tabacum L
[ Approximately 100 seeds per packet ]

Plants grow to about five feet tall, cure to a medium reddish-brown color, and reportedly has a low nicotine content. Named after the Bafra district in the Samsun Province of Turkey. It was described in 1922 as follows:
"Bafra tobacco is particularly famous for its exquisite taste and aromatic quality. Most of it is stemless. It is rather a darkish-red in color, and the leaves are tongue-shaped."[1]
It is an old Turkish-type tobacco used historically as a pipe and cigarette blending tobacco variety. Originally sent to us by David Pendergrass from Middle Tennessee, it originated as USDA accession number PI 494146.

Tobacco plants are very interesting, ornamental, and have many uses apart from consumption. Tobacco seeds are not classified as tobacco products. We promote the cultivation of tobacco plants, but we do not promote the use of tobacco products.
Tobacco seeds are tiny and look like dust, but each one has the potential to quickly grow into a huge tobacco plant. They need light to germinate. Sprinkle the seeds onto the surface of a moist and sterile seed starting mix. Do not cover the seeds. They also must never be allowed to dry out, so they are frequently (but gently) watered using a mist from a spray bottle. While waiting for germination, it can help to cover them with some kind of plastic sheeting to help hold moisture.

Once tiny seedlings emerge, you can pick them out one by one and move them into individual cells. Very lightly fertilize and never allow the potting soil to dry out. Within 6 weeks it'll be ready to plant in the garden. Wait until all risk of frost is over before planting outdoors.

★★★★★ A nice little treat
By Robert Fantauzzi (Grey-Bruce County, Ontario, Canada) on August 21, 2022

I planted two plants (my first time) and I couldn't be more impressed. I planted at the end of May, crowned at the end of the June, pruned since then, and my two plants are now each 5 feet or so with smashingly giant leaves. I've already dried and cured a few leafs that came off in heavy rain, and they cured in about 2 weeks to a wonderful light brown.

I'm currently running it through a volcano vaporizer connected to a water pipe, using the tobacco as a base for cannabis diamonds. I really, really couldn't be happy.

Very light, very mild. I don't use tobacco on any regular bases, so this isn't overwhelming at all. A must-try!
