65 days — The plants are vigorous, semi-vining and somewhat sprawling in habit growing eighteen to twenty-four inches tall with lavender flowers. The pods are six to seven inches long and turn purple at the shell stage. At the shell stage, the peas are light green with a red eye. They turn almost white with a maroon eye when dried.

'CT Pinkeye Purplehull', with the help of Dr. Elsner, was developed by C.T. Smith Co. and introduced in 1985. It is a Blackeye Cowpea Mosaic Virus (BICMV) virus resistant variety whose PVP expired in 2007. Each ounce is about 100 seeds, which is enough to plant a ten foot row.
