85 days, indeterminate — 'Mikarda Sweet' has spindly looking plants with wispy, regular leaves similar of many heart-shaped fruited varieties. The fruit are a deep-pink color, elongated, with the thick, meaty flesh of a paste-type tomato. Unlike many common paste varieties, 'Mikarda Sweet' delivers a nice, slightly sweet flavor.
Originally sent to us by author and tomato authority Craig LeHoullier (NC LE C), he wrote, "This is one of the original Russian varieties introduced by High Altitude Seeds (Bill McDorman) in 1990. It is very unusual being a pink fruited, elongated type, and having excellent flavor atypical of paste types. It is quite rare and not often offered."
