80 days, indeterminate — 'Tidwell German' plants are large and vigorous with regular leaves. They produce pink fruit that typically average one to two pounds each.
Suckering the plants can result in fruit weighing more than three
pounds each. Moderate drought resistance but does not like wet conditions.
They have an excellent, mild flavor and are perfect for picking fresh and slicing. With its meaty flesh and few seed, it makes a good thick juice.
This is a family heirloom from the Tidwell family of Middle Tennessee who have been growing it since at least the 1920s. Our 'Tidwell German' seed is raised in Tennessee by the descendant who introduced these to the gardening public in 2000, David Pendergrass. Each packet contains approximately 20 seeds.
